Delivery status during the COVID-19 crisis and heavy snowfall

This page will be updated regulary to keep you posted of all the delivery delays around the world due to the COVID-19 virus. We cannot guarantee that deliveries will be in time and in some cases deliveries might be refused at the border or at the local post office and returned to sender without notice. Please check the table below and make sure your customers are well informed. More information can be requested through our support desk.

General alert

Due to heavy snowfall in the Netherlands and Germany all orders from the 5ht of February until the 12th might delay for max one week.

Make sure to add contact information

In some cases deliveries will be refused if the recipient is not at home. Parcel shops are not always open to public and might refuse the order. Adding contact details can help the courier contact the recipient to make sure parcels are delivered.

Europe

Austria Delays expected.

AtPost:

We kindly ask to continue to prepare your customers for the fact that longer transit times within Austria must be expected.

Due to the weather conditions in the west and south of the country, we were unable to deliver in some areas (Lesachtal, East Tyrol, Gailtal and various side valleys in Tyrol), which will lead to delays. Relaxation in these areas is expected 1-2 days after the snowfall has ended. We are dependent on approval by the authorities here.

DPD:

If possible, address parcels directly to the recipient or make sure the recipient of your shipment is open before submitting the shipment to DPD. The following zipcodes are open, but with possible delays: 6441, 6450 6456, 6184, 6183, 6181, 6167 and 6500. In the south of Austria there are closed roads due to heavy snowfall. This can cause delays at the following zipcodes: 0626, 0627, 0629, 0630 and 0632.All non-essential shops are closed.

Belgium Delays expected. All normal post can take up to two weeks. All tracked post can take up to 1 week. Alle Express shipments can take up to 3 work days.
Croatia Delays expected. All services delay 4-7 days at the moment.
Finland Delays expected. All services delay 1-6 days at the moment.
France Delays expected. All services delay 1-8 days at the moment.

There’s bad weather in the west of France. This will affect the delivery and collection of the parcels in certain areas.

Germany Delays expected. Alle normal post can take 1 – 2 weeks. Tracked mail up to 1 week. Express up to 3 work days.

Hermes DE (Express service):

Due to the corona measures decided by the federal and state governments, not all Hermes Parcel Shops are currently open. Since a large part of the more than 16,000 Parcel Shops nationwide are integrated in facilities for daily needs, over 75 percent of the Parcel Shops will also be available during the lockdown.

Deutsche Post (normal and tracked mail):

Due to the current rise in parcel volumes and more stringent COVID safety measures, the delivery of shipments may be subject to delays in certain cases. We ask for your understanding in such instances.

Ireland Delays expected. All services delay 1-11 days at the moment.

Anpost:

The ecommerce parcels volume has increased significantly since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic. Since the new measures and the closing of most retail outlets in Ireland, we are experiencing an earlier than usual start of the peak season. The delays can be up to 14 working days.

Italy Poste Italiane suspended delivery services in the below postal code areas, in order to minimize the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19):

Camastra (CAP 92020) – in the Caltanissetta area/ Misilmeri (postcode 90036) en Ciminna (90023) – in the Palermo area/ Vittoria (CAP 97019) en Acate (97011) – in the Ragusa area /Cesarò (98033), ronte ( 95034), Maniace (95030) en San Teodoro (98030) – in the Catania area/ Pallagorio (88818) – in the Cosenza area/ Cotronei (88836), Isola Capo Rizzuto (88841) en Mileto (89852) – in the Catanzaro area/ Bagnara Calabra (89011), Platì , Bruzzano Zeffiro (89030) Cardeto (89060) – in the Reggio Calabria area

Netherlands Delays expected. All normal and tracked post can delay up to 4 work days. Express shipments can take up to 2 work days.

Please be aware that the Netherlands is in lockdown until the 2nd of March 2021. All non-essential shops are closed. Parcelshops from DHL and PostNL also have been shut down.

Due to the weather PostNL and DHL didn’t pick up all the parcels. They have a backlog with processing parcels from last Monday and Tuesday.

DHL:

Due to the lockdown, a limited number of DHL Service Points are closed. Is a parcel in a closed location? Then it will be returned to the sender. They will try to deliver a parcel on its way to a closed location at another pick-up point. Is that not possible? Then it will be returned. Check the opening hours before you visit one of the DHL locations.

Portugal Delays expected. All services delay 1-7 days at the moment.
Slovenia Delays expected. All services delay around 8 days at the moment.
Spain Delays expected. All services delay 6 – 14 days at the moment.
United Kingdom Delays expected. Shipments can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

Eurotunnel delays

There will be additional delays due to big waiting lines for the Eurotunnel. It is now a requirement for the driver to present a recent negative PCR test, in order to enter France

The UK is in lockdown since the 5th of January, all shops and services are closed.

North America

Canada Delays expected. Tracked mail will can take up to 3 weeks to arrive and will not have a delivery scan or signature at delivery. Express shipments take around 1 week to arrive.
Dominican Republic Delays expected. Average 3 – 6 days delay.
United States Huge delays expected, tracked mail can take up to 28 days to arrive. Express shipments can take up to 10 days to arrive.
